Élara Voss

Born in Vienna, 1987. Lives and works between New York and the Swiss Alps.

Élara Voss has spent the last fifteen years systematically dismantling the boundaries between painting, sculpture, and installation. Her practice is rooted in what she calls "irrational precision" — the meticulous construction of work that defies logical interpretation while maintaining an almost obsessive formal rigor.

Working across oil paint, bronze, neon, found materials, and increasingly large-scale immersive environments, Voss creates experiences that oscillate between the brutally physical and the ethereally sublime. Her palette — dominated by deep blacks, raw earth tones, and sudden eruptions of gold — reflects a worldview where beauty is inseparable from violence.

Her work is held in the permanent collections of MoMA, the Tate, Centre Pompidou, the Guggenheim, and numerous private collections worldwide.
